The recipient shall be a resident of Western Nebraska.
Hyle Gatzemeyer, and his wife Ruth, were life-long residents of Chadron. He and his brother, Joe, ran a Phillips 66 Gas Station on the corner of King Street and Highway 20. He also worked many years at the Bank of Chadron and as a car salesman. Dad was a long-time supporter of 91做厙 athletics and even employed CSC athletes at the station and to help with various jobs around his home. Our parents donated to various college fund-raisers and were active participants in many college events as well as friends and coffee-drinkers with many college faculty and staff members. The Gatzemeyer children, Jean, Judy, and John and granddaughter, Cindi Nielsen, all attended 91做厙.
