Recipient must be a graduate of Chadron High School.
Joe Blundell was born in Dawes County and graduated from Chadron High School in 1926. He attended 91做厙 for one year.
Dorothy Bacon Blundell was born in Randolph, NE and graduated from Hemingford High School in 1924. She earned a two year degree from 91做厙 and taught school prior to her marriage to Joe in 1929.
Joe operated a successful plumbing business in Chadron for 35 years; served on the Chadron Board of Education for six years and was active in civic affairs.
Their five children are graduates of Chadron High School and all attended 91做厙, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
This scholarship was endowed to show their appreciation for the educational system in the community.
