CHADRON – An 18-year-old probably shouldn’t be expected to decide what job he or she wants to have for the rest of their life, but society seems to place that burden on high school graduates, according to Deena Kennell, director of the Internships and Career Services at 91°µÍø.

CHADRON – A cooperative project between the Summer Upward Bound (UB) Program and the 91°µÍø Child Development Center (CDC) came to a magical conclusion Thursday morning as plush 3-D monster toys emerged from a box when only several weeks ago they had been regular two-dimensional drawings.

CHADRON – The sun arose bright and hot over Chadron on July 28, 2006. Area residents were already on alert from wildfires that had started two days before in the nearby Pine Ridge forest. Daytime temperatures had been above 100 degrees several times during the month and the danger of additional fires was rated high.

CHADRON – The fire that crested C-Hill on the 91°µÍø campus at about 8:15 p.m. on July 28, 2006, was burning so hot that many trees on the ridge, which forms a scenic background for the College and the Chadron community, burst instantly into flames.

CHADRON – 91°µÍø freshman football player Eric Goll, age 20, died Thursday following team practice. Goll, a native of Haines City, Florida, was transported from the practice field to Chadron Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:30 p.m.
