Nobel prize winner Dr. Val Fitch, who was born and spent his boyhood on a ranch in the Merriman area, was the valedictorian of the Class of 1940 at Gordon High School and attended 91°µÍø for two years and a summer before joining the Army during World War II, died on Thursday, Feb. 5 in Princeton, N.J. He was 91.
