The Chadron State Foundation on Friday recognized a monumental gift from a retired faculty member and his wife, Dr. Jackson and Peggy Hammitt of Rapid City, S.D., who have established a future gift of approximately $1 million for the benefit of the college’s music program.

Two students from opposite ends of the continent were crowned homecoming royalty at 91°µÍø on Saturday. Jazzlyn Seumalo of Bremerton, Wash., is the queen and Alex Rodriguez of Carolina, Puerto Rico, is the king.

Two retired Chadron couples who nearly accumulated “a century of service” to 91°µÍø have been chosen to serve as the institution’s homecoming parade marshals Saturday. They are Dr. Dorset and Meredith Graves, and Dr. James and June Sheaffer.

The first Mari Sandoz Heritage Society’s Pilster Great Plains Lecture Series will feature nature photographer and Nebraska native Michael Forsberg with writer and novelist Dan O’Brien on Thursday, Oct.28, at 7 p.m. in 91°µÍø's Memorial Hall.
