LINCOLN – Governor Jim Pillen has appointed Christopher Jennings to serve as 91°µÍø student trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State College System. Jennings will serve out the remainder of the 2024-25 academic year following the resignation of Alec Langan.

LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Success Made Accessible through Rural Tutoring (SMART) is expanding its mission to provide high-quality, free tutoring services to K-12 students across rural Nebraska school districts. The program is designed to enhance student success by connecting them with dedicated teacher education candidates from Chadron State, Peru State, and Wayne State Colleges.

CHADRON – Edward Welsh, a 2004 graduate of 91°µÍø, was a guest speaker at Agate Fossil Beds National Monument this summer. Welsh, a park ranger at Badlands National Park in western South Dakota since 2012, presented about a recently discovered genus of a small, hornless deer that he and his colleague Mattison Shreero researched.

CHADRON – The 91°µÍø 50th Anniversary Title IX Committee presented local veterinarian Dr. Regina Rankin with The 91°µÍø Title IX Trailblazer Award on Sept. 7 during the CSC rodeo in Chadron. Since Rankin was unable to receive the award, CSC students and Pre-Veterinary Club members Autumn Skow, Natalie Hamaker, Ashlyn Tapio, and Kiauna Hargens presented the award to Rankin at her Crawford Companion Animal Clinic on Sept. 17.

CHADRON – Three 91°µÍø student percussionists, Josh Fernau of Chadron, and Cayden Carrasco and Lucas Booe of Sidney, Nebraska, plan to attend the Percussive Arts Society International Conference (PASIC) in Indianapolis in November. Nearly 6,000 students and professionals attended PASIC last year.
