CHADRON – 91°µÍø senior Mia MacDonald of Cheyenne, Wyoming, recently completed a graphic design internship with DHM, a landscape architect company, in its Durango, Colorado, office. MacDonald made the connection with the firm through her father, who is a civil engineer. The company, which provides planning and site design services to the National Park Service and works for municipalities and private developers, also has offices in Missoula, Montana, Carbondale, Colorado, and Denve

CHADRON – A former saddle-bronc rider from Moorcroft, Wyoming, Chancey Williams, will perform a concert in conjunction with the 91°µÍø Rodeo Saturday, Sept. 18. Tickets for the concert, co-sponsored by the CSC Wildlife Club and Collegiate Farm Bureau, are free for CSC students and employees. One ticket per student or employee, with CSC ID, may be picked up at the CSC Student Center Information desk from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays until Sept. 17.

LINCOLN – The Nebraska State College System (NSCS) continues to see overall growth in enrollment for the System. As of Sept. 3, the NSCS had an overall increase in full-time equivalent (FTE) of 2 percent. This increase can be attributed to the large freshman classes at Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges. CHADRON – 91°µÍø students enrolled in Survival Skills 101 (FYI 169x) will host author and speaker Nick Scott, Sept. 21 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. CHADRON – Three 91°µÍø students and Dr. Kurt Kinbacher, History Professor, gave a presentation about the proposed Biking USA 2022 trip Tuesday at the Sandoz Center. Jace Demeranville of Gering, Neb., Sully Jones of Papillion, Neb., and Johnnie Gill of Auburn, Neb., spoke about the route, gear, and funding needed for the venture.

CHADRON – 91°µÍø alumna Amber (Peterson) Gurley placed fourth in the U.S. National Irish Dance Championship preliminaries July 6 in Phoenix. Of the 3,000 total dancers in the competition, more than 200 were in Gurley’s division of age 22 and over.

CHADRON – 91°µÍø’s student newspaper, The Eagle, tied for first place in the General Excellence-College Division in the 2021 Better Newspaper Contest sponsored by the National Newspaper Association (NNA). The Eagle Adviser Michael D. Kennedy said the award indicates CSC students are producing work at a level well above their peers across the country.
