CHADRON – Bryony Trump’s solo clarinet recital Sunday, Sept. 30, at 91°µÍø will be more than fulfilling a graduation requirement. Her performance will also represent months of recovery from a rollover accident north of her home in Sterling, Colorado. Trump’s recital will be at 3 p.m. in the Mari Sandoz High Plain Heritage Center’s Chicoine Atrium.

CHADRON – Two 91°µÍø graduates from the 1980s, Judge Russell W. Harford of Chadron and Dr. James Jaggers of Aurora, Colorado, will be honored for achievements in their professions and demonstrating service to the college with the CSC Distinguished Alumni Award at a luncheon Saturday during the college’s Homecoming activities. Distinguished Young Alumni Awards will also be presented at the luncheon.

LINCOLN – The Board of Trustees announced four finalists in the search for the next chancellor of the Nebraska State College System (NSCS). Chancellor Stan Carpenter is retiring after 18 years of service with the NSCS.

CHADRON - The latest edition of “Tenth Street Miscellany,” the literary and art journal produced by 91°µÍø students, is now available online with a new design featuring photos by CSC student Kaitlin Macke, and 70 pages of poetry, art work, fiction and non-fiction stories, and a critical essay on the global rise of Nazi ideology prior to World War II.

CHADRON – A pilot project is underway this fall to help 91°µÍø freshmen build community. The Common Intellectual Experience is intended to help freshmen acclimate to academic life, examine important social issues, set academic expectations and foster critical thinking, according to Common Intellectual Experience committee co-chair Dr. Kathleen Kirsch.
