CHADRON – After years of planning and months of construction, the Chadron Area Aquatics and Wellness Center will open to the public Monday, March 7. The $6.8 million center hosted a “VIP Tour” Feb. 11 but officially opens for business Monday.

CHADRON – 91°µÍø recently announced six employees were hired in February. Three of the new employees are custodians, one is an assistant coach and two others are faculty members who will begin their duties at the start of the 2017-18 Academic Year.

CHADRON – Four graphic design students and 91°µÍø faculty members Mary Donahue and Dr. Shaunda French attended the annual Meet the Pros conference in Omaha Feb. 20-21. The students were Rachel Blair of Homer, Neb., Serena Brooks of Glenrock, Wyo., Tara Medigovich of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Caitlyn Wiseman of Chadron.

LINCOLN —The Nebraska Tourism Commission has announced the list of stops in the summer 2017 Nebraska Passport and it includes the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center located on the 91°µÍø campus.

CHADRON – Keynote speaker Daniel Hodgins led two sessions Saturday during 91°µÍø’s 28th annual Excellence in Early Childhood Conference. Hodgins' morning session featured cognitive, behavioral and learning differences between pre-school boys and girls. In the afternoon, he provided strategies to successfully work with children who are seeking power.

CHADRON – Two art shows open in 91°µÍø’s Memorial Hall Monday, Feb. 20. An art faculty show, “Time Lapse,” in the Main Gallery features works by Laura Bentz, Daniel Binkard, Trudy Denham, Mary Donahue, Dewayne Gimeson, Carly Heath and Sarah Polak. The show will close March 24 following a reception March 23 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
