A 91°µÍø graduate who has had numerous unusual experiences will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award and be the speaker at the college’s undergraduate commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6 in the Armstrong Building.

91°µÍø’s new president, Dr. Janie Park, stressed the importance of working with the residents of the region to solve common problems and the college’s need to be a good steward during her inauguration address last Friday night. Park said a college that is a good steward is responsive to public needs and is intertwined with its region so that both will prosper.

Convenience and flexibility are hallmarks of this year’s summer school schedule at 91°µÍø. “Since most summer school students also work and are involved in various activities we have made the schedule so they can earn credit in a variety of ways and still meet their other obligations,” said Steve Taylor, assistant vice president of extended campus programs and coordinator of the summer school program.

If the C on Chadron’s C-Hill looks a little brighter this week, credit the work of about a dozen students and employees of 91°µÍø. Members of Chadron State’s Project Strive/TRiO program trekked the hill Saturday to give the C its annual dressing up.

Two members of the music faculty of Brigham Young University at Provo, Utah, will present a recital at 91°µÍø. The recital, which is free and open to the public, will be Tuesday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. at the Chicoine Atrium of the Sandoz Center.
