A renowned criminologist will talk about serial killers and hate crimes during a presentation at 91°µÍø next week. He is Dr. Jack Levin, professor and director of the Brudnick Center on Conflict and Violence at Boston’s Northeastern University. Levin’s presentation will be Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Student Center ballroom. The event is open to the public free of charge.

Chadron State, Peru State and Wayne State Colleges are observing October as Nebraska State College System Month. Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman in August proclaimed the month of October as Nebraska State College System Month for the state. At the proclamation ceremony, the governor encouraged students to visit the member institutions in the Nebraska State College System -- Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges - during this month.

One of the outstanding musical comedies of recent years, “Honk,” will be presented this weekend by the Theater and Music Departments at 91°µÍø. The performances that are open to the public will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6-8 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 in Memorial Hall.

The Department of Business and Economics at 91°µÍø and the Nebraska Council on Economic Education will host the 22nd annual World Food Day Teleconference on Friday, Oct. 14 in the Student Center Ballroom at CSC.
