The nation’s Poet Laureate, Ted Kooser of Lincoln, will lead off the Galaxy Series at 91°µÍø this fall. He will read his poetry at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 in Memorial Hall. Tickets are now available through the CSC box office in Memorial Hall.

The Bordeaux Community Band and the Chadron Community Chorus are gearing up for their performances in 2005 and ’06. The organizational meeting and first rehearsal for the band will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30 in the band room of Memorial Hall at 91°µÍø. The chorus will assemble for the first time this fall at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 in the chorus room of Memorial Hall.

A marketing professor who has a wealth of experience in business and economic development has joined the faculty at 91°µÍø.

A new assistant criminal justice professor at 91°µÍø will have many first-hand experiences to tell his students. Loren Zimmerman was a high school dropout, is a Marine Corps veteran and a former homicide investigator for the Los Angeles Police Department. Largely because of the Marines, he has been around the world twice.

A new management professor has been hired at 91°µÍø. He is August Bruehlman, who is nearing completion of his doctorate at Colorado State University.

A new political science instructor began working at 91°µÍø this fall. Luke Perry is a native of LaGrange, Ill. He earned his bachelor’s degree from York College in Pennsylvania. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, where he is also working on a doctorate.

Last fall during Family Day at 91°µÍø, the Rolland and Nancy Sayer family of Chadron was among those receiving the Family Tree Award. Nancy, all three of their children, a son-in-law and two grandchildren have graduated from CSC. Both daughters, Deb Keim and Lorie Hunn, are employed at the college.
