CHADRON – The senior class in Social Work at 91°µÍø will host nationally known author Barbara Rubel as the keynote speaker for The Truth in Trauma and Trauma Informed Practices, a free conference Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Center.

CHADRON – An interactive display, What Were You Wearing, in the King Library through the end of October is helping bring awareness to campus about sexual assault. The exhibit features a QR code that links to an online form where individuals can anonymously submit their stories of surviving sexual assault.

CHADRON – The 91°µÍø Distinguished Writer Series will feature Jonis Agee, recipient of the 2022 One Book One Nebraska, in two presentations Nov. 3. Agee will read from her novel, The Bones of Paradise, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Student Center. The free, public book discussion will cover the issues the novel raises about living in western Nebraska, according to organizers of the event Dr. Matt Evertson and Markus Jones.

CHADRON – Nearly 200 students from eight high schools in Nebraska and South Dakota attended 91°µÍø’s annual Theatre Day Oct. 6. More than 20 CSC students taught sessions on 16 topics ranging from costuming, lighting, set painting, improvisation, and publicity photography. Theatre faculty and staff also taught workshops.

CHADRON – Nearly 100 Project Strive TRiO students have participated in an annual tradition of planting trees on the 91°µÍø campus during the past 11 years. Jen Schaer, director of Project Strive TRiO, said the tradition was established when students in the program helped plant trees on C-Hill during The Big Event. They have also helped with other campus beautification projects.
