CHADRON – In an illustrated lecture Sept. 27, British author Alan Wilkinson will reveal how a road trip 30 years ago led him to discover Nebraska, its people, and its writers. The free, public reading from Lost and Found in Nebraska will be at the Bean Broker in Chadron. The presentation begins at 7 p.m.

CHADRON – Members of the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees attended the dedication of the Math Science Center of Innovative Learning Sept. 7 before their regular meeting on 91°µÍø’s campus Sept. 8. CHADRON – Thanks to what is perceived as the largest incoming class of transfer students in school history, 91°µÍø’s enrollment increased based on figures compiled by the Nebraska State College System (NSCS) on the 10th day of classes.

CHADRON – 91°µÍø students in Geoscience courses are able to conduct analysis of solid materials with the college’s first portable X-Ray Fluorescence unit (pXRF) purchased with a grant written by Professor Dr. Mike Leite and Assistant Professor Dr. Tawny Tibbits from the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research: a National Science Foundation program (EPSCoR).

LINCOLN – For the fourth straight year, the Nebraska State College System (NSCS) experiences overall growth in enrollment with an increase in student headcount. As of September 2, the NSCS had an overall increase in headcount of 0.2%. The State Colleges have increased enrollment by 6.3% since Fall 2018. The most recent increase is primarily attributed to a 19.7% increase in new transfer students at Chadron State, Peru State, and Wayne State Colleges.

CHADRON – An article co-authored by 91°µÍø Assistant Professor Dr. Elizabeth Kraatz was published in the July issue of Theory Into Practice. The peer-reviewed journal is designed for teachers and administrators to support the application of educational research to educational practice.
