CHADRON – 91°µÍø and the Nebraska Council on Economic Education are co-sponsoring the fifth annual Best of the West Business Invitational at CSC today. The event will be face-to-face after being virtual last year. Seventy-eight high school students from Alliance, Chadron, Hay Springs, Hemingford, and Valentine will participate.

CHADRON – For the first time in six years, 91°µÍø’s spring enrollment has increased from the previous spring. As of Monday, CSC’s enrollment in the 2022 spring semester is 2,101 students, compared to 2,067 students in 2021.

CHADRON – A music composition by 91°µÍø student Thomas Hughes aired Jan. 6 during Nebraska Public Media’s television series What If, a show about innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity in Nebraska. The theme music, Swashbuckling Revelation, is Hughes’ first concert band score.

CHADRON – The 91°µÍø Social Sciences Club is sponsoring several activities in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. No classes will convene Monday for the third year following a decision by the Nebraska State College System to recognize the national holiday.

LINCOLN – The Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees hosted its business meeting Wednesday in Lincoln. Prior to the meeting, the NSCS hosted a reception for Nebraska State Senators, and the Councils of Business Officers, Academic Officers, and Student Affairs Officers met.

CHADRON – The 91°µÍø Music Department’s spring schedule includes 19 events. In addition to recitals by CSC faculty and students, three guest artists will take the stage. Concerts will continue the Celebration of Women in Music series that began in Fall 2021 and include final installments in the series to honor Beethoven’s 250th year.All performances are free and open to the public. The Jan. 31 and Feb. 21 concerts will be broadcast by CSC Live.

CHADRON - 91°µÍø student Cooper Reichman is the Project Strive/TRiO Student of the Month for December. Reichman, a junior from Chappell, Nebraska, said he chose 91°µÍø because of its Rangeland program, which is the second largest academic program of its kind in the nation. He also works for the U.S. Forest Service office in Chadron. Reichman said he enjoys being part of a small school and small community because he gets to know a lot of people.
