CHADRON – The Week of the Young Child (April 10-16) was especially meaningful for 91°µÍø students Bailey Brooks of Douglas, Wyoming, and Brianna Williams of Buffalo, South Dakota. Brooks and Williams planned developmentally-appropriate lessons and activities for children at the CSC Child Development Center as part of their practicum, a capstone-like class in the Early Childhood curriculum.

CHADRON – 91°µÍø hosted its sixth annual Rising Sophomore awards ceremony April 13. The ceremony celebrates current freshmen nominated by CSC faculty, staff, and student peers for outstanding qualities and achievements during their first year. Photos of award winners are in the CSC online gallery.

CHADRON – 91°µÍø’s ninth annual The Big Event (TBE) was a success in spite of complications including COVID-19 protocols and weather, according to Graduate Assistant Kaci Waugh. Although jobsite teams that had initially planned to work outside were reassigned due to snow Thursday and Friday, Waugh said about 400 volunteers came ready to work Saturday morning.

CHADRON – 91°µÍø Accompanist Bobby Pace recently learned that one of his private vocal music students, Chadron High School senior Lateisha Ngoi, has been accepted to Juilliard. Even though Ngoi completed her video conference audition for Juilliard before they started working together in January, Pace said it is exciting to work with a student who has been accepted to such a prestigious institution.

LINCOLN – Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State College students who are Pell-eligible or have an expected family contribution (EFC) of $10,000 or less are eligible to receive an additional $3,000 in Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) III financial assistance during the 2021-22 academic year.
