RAPID CITY -- Presidents from the higher education institutions in western South Dakota and Nebraska gathered March 29 for the Presidents’ Higher Education Summit in Rapid City. LINCOLN – The devastation caused by the recent flooding and blizzard will have far-reaching impacts on a number of Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges’ students who come from all corners of Nebraska. To help alleviate some of the financial hardships on returning and incoming students and families affected by the natural disasters, the Nebraska State College System (NSCS) is launching the 2019 Disaster Relief Tuition Waiver Program.

CHADRON -- At 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 1993, in Memorial Hall on the 91°µÍø campus, Carola Winkle raised her baton and led a group of some 30 musicians from Chadron and surrounding communities in the first 90-minute rehearsal of the Bordeaux Community Band.
