LINCOLN – The Nebraska State Colleges are offering refunds to students who choose to move out of the residence halls because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

LINCOLN – In light of the COVID-19 information and guidance discussed at today’s Governor’s press conference, as well as changes in the recommendations from regional departments of health across the state, the Nebraska State College System (NSCS) has decided to extend Chadron, Peru, and Wayne State Colleges’ current Spring Break for one more week to provide time for our Colleges to develop alternative instruction for the remainder of the semester. Classes will resume on Monday, March 23.

CHADRON – Twenty-four Nebraska high school students have been selected as participants in the Rural Health Opportunities Program (RHOP) at 91°µÍø. Additionally, nine high school students were selected as alternates.

CHADRON – Seven Kenyan members of the National Organizing Committee for the Joint 24th International Grassland Congress and 11th International Rangeland Congress scheduled in Nairobi this fall visited 91°µÍø in February, as guests of Dr. Jim O’Rourke, 91°µÍø Professor Emeritus. He has been working with the Kenyan NOC for four years. ​

NOTE: Mays' writing workshop scheduled for March 21 has been postponed. CHADRON – 91°µÍø graduate Jovan Mays memorialized another CSC alumnus, the late Zack Muma, in November 2019 when he presented “The Constellation Zacharias,” his second TEDx Mile High talk.

NOTE: The Graves Lecture Series for the spring semester has been canceled. CHADRON – The Spring 2020 Graves Lecture Series will feature 91°µÍø faculty, staff, and alumni. Each lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center’s Chicoine Atrium. The events are free and open to the public.
